"There may come a day when our definition of fitness is not a compromise, when we no longer sacrifice mastery in one domain for competency in many, instead choosing mastery in all."

This is not something I tell people when I talk to them abotu CrossFit, usually I tell them that If they want to be a world class olympic lifter that they should go to an olympic lifting gym, and if they want win marathons for a living that my training is not for them. Usually I explain it to them by having them rank the ten domains of fitness (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy)on a scale from 1-10 with ten meaning that they are at the elite level of that catagory( i.e Hussein Bolt would be a 10 in speed) then I let them know that they will never reach a 10 training with me because a ten in strength or power typically means you have a 3 in another area. However we can get each are up to an 8 and not compromise any other area.
