What do you suck at ?

Seriously what do you suck at? when you come into the gym and you look up on the board what makes you want to turn around and walk back out. for me its high rep body weight movement. things like burpees, pull-ups, box jumps. Speaking of Box Jumps if I ever meet "Kelly" face to face I will have some very unkind words to say to her. This is really what CrossFit is great at ( as far as improving fitness ) it maintains your strengths and builds up your weaknesses Lets use me as an example. I started CrossFit in January of this year, after an attempt to turn my 6'2 250 lb body into an endurance athlete by taking a triathlon class offered through Pepperdine. I ended up not being able to complete the class due to some knee issues that cropped up from the rapid increase in miles I was running ( from 0-1 mile a week up to 3 or 4 a day). I start my internship at CrossFit Malibu in january after that semester overweight with a knee that liked to act up and give me knee problems. After completeing the OnRam Class they had there ( just 3 weeks ) my knee problems were gone. Then in the middle of February  a 5k comes up as the workout for the gym, it was not easy to make myself go to the gym that day, but I did. The Work out was scaled so that you either ran to the turn around point and back or you ran for 15 minutes out and then back. Sadly I did not make the turn around point that day, I did however run in converse with out any knee pain for 32  minutes straight. Then a couple of months later it came up again and I finished the whole 5 k in 30:30. so in the space of three months I went from a 40 min 5k with knee pain to a 30 minute 5k pain free. While most people would say that it was pretty good because they didnt run more than 400m at a time in between those WoD's I am thankful that CrossFit made me work on my weaknesses through the WOD's that required 200, 400, and 800 m sprints, as well as plenty of rowing workouts. CrossFit will help fill the gaps in your fitness while maintaining or improving your strength the example I use for that is that while already strong my Dead Lift went from 160kg or so to 220 and my CrossFit Total went from 900lbs to over 1000, I was also able to start stinging together pull-ups and complete many workouts as RX'd. For any non sport specific athlete ( many everyone not getting payed to play a sport) there is absolutely no reason why CrossFit should not be your Fitness Program. GPP( General Physical Preparedness) will improve and prolong not only the quantity but more importantly the quality of your life, and whats more as I tlaked about yesterday it is the most fun you will ever have while doing hard work.
