My First Time
Like most of us, I’ll never forget my first time. I had done all the proper preparation, read all the literature, and even watched LOTS of instructional (and entertaining) videos from the internet on the subject. And it was finally my turn.
When I started I felt a little awkward – after all, I had been anticipating this moment for so long and I wanted everything to go just like I saw in the videos. In the first minute or so I began breathing so hard it was downright embarrassing. Within just a few minutes I was sweating profusely and it felt like I had lost all motor control. Several times throughout I wasn’t sure I was going to be able complete the task satisfactorily, but not wanting to disappoint, I persevered. Out of breath, muscles tired and drenched in sweat, I literally collapsed from exhaustion the moment I had finished.
I had done it. Finally. It wasn’t pretty, but completing that rite of passage changed my life forever and I couldn’t wait to tell all my friends about it. It took me about 32 minutes, and her name was “Angie”.
