ZONE CHALLENGE Day 4

Experiences in my first four days on a strict Zone Diet

Alright I am four days into the zone challenge put on by CrossFit Malibu. Day one and two were not that bad, I got to eat steaks and and burgers ( only one slice of bread) more avocado than I had eaten previously in my life and enjoyed eating five times a day.  Today however things started to change a little bit, It seems that all I want and can think about when it comes time for meal time is a meat lovers pizza and a Pepsi, followed of course by a piece of chocolate cake. I personally blame church, before Sunday morning I hadn't even thought about the sweet stuff or having a cup of coffee. Then I went to church on Sunday and of course there were the doughnut, I actually found my self walking over to the table to get my usual cup of coffee and doughnut without even thinking about it. I quickly changed my choice to a cup of water and nothing else. Today it seems as if Neva, who is doing the challenge with me, and I could talk about nothing other than what were wanted but could not have because it wasn't Zone friendly, and about when the two weeks was up so we could have our cheat day, and what we would eat on our cheat day. The funny thing is, I am not hungry my stomach is not growling but go and look in the fridge when it is time for a meal and nothing I see looks good, not the steak, ground turkey, guacamole, nothing because my body is starting to crave those carbs. For four days my insulin levels have been controlled and remained steady at a much lower level than my body is used to, and now it is angry at me. Tomorrow morning I know I am going to wake up and want some coffee, and definitely some hash browns with my eggs, but I also know I wont eat or drink any of that because my performance is what matters. I know that the Zone will decrease my times and increase my loads unlike any other diet could while achieving optimum body fat levels. That and its called the ZONE CHALLENGE and I never back down from a challenge .
